Our 2 year old shower not electric started to run randomly hot and cold. We asked the plumber who installed it to visit and we’re told that it was probably the thermostat and this would need replacing but her advice was to replace the whole shower unit
This was done but the problem did not stop and we had to call her back twice before she said she did not know what was wrong but not to use the shower with other appliances on at the same time
We called out our gas boiler maintainance with British Gas and in 15 minutes he diagnosed air in the boiler. He rectified this and all is now well. We have received a bill from the plumber for nearly £300 for fitting a new shower unit that we didn’t need at all
My questions arenew shower
Our 2 year old shower started playing up randomly hot and cold water coming out.
We called out the plumber who fitted it and she said it must be the thermostat that needed replacing but in her opinion it would be better to renew the whole shower figment.
There are only 2 of us so the shower is sparsely used
This refit was done but the problem still existed and we had to call her back twice more but she could offer no resolution except not showering when the wA
Asher or dishwasher was on
In the end we called the Gas Board out to look at the boiler and in 15 minutes he had diagnosed air in the boiler and rectified the whole problem
Now I have a bill from the plumber for £300 for a new shower figment that was obviously never needed.
My questions are..
Should the plumber not have considered the boiler issue when diagnosing the problem?
I am aggrieved at the bill but do you think I have any recourse to say anything to the plumber about it? She did not rectify the situation by her handling of it at all
Any help gratefully received.
