We are remodelling our bathroom and are looking to put in a deep bathtub (omnitub duo plus) 1050x1250x650mm due to the dimensions of the room. This holds 457litres when full.
However, since purchasing the tub we are concerned about the weight on the timber floor. Below the pine floorboards we have single timber joists that are 5cm in width and 40cm apart. Will these be able to hold the bathtub which will be on 6 legs? On either side of the bathtub there is a stone wall and brick wall. Will we require any additional joists or noggins to support the weight of the tub and 15 stone person when filled?
