We have rain coming in above the patio doors, do we need a builder?

We have rain coming in above the patio doors and can see no obvious leak from outside. What sort of trade would cover this - builder or window specialist?

Heavy driving rain can penetrate brickwork run down the back and progress internally at window and door openings at the head. You may require a lintel installed with cavity tray and weep vents above the patio door. This will allow any penetrating water into the cavity to flow back externally. Regards Paul Nunn

Hello Emma, Put the job on this site under windows with a budget of £100 and you will soon get sorted. The service in getting advice/survey is free and you should get 3 tradesmen to quote so you should use it. Tradesmen pay for the opportunity to quote on your job. It is important to give tradesmen contacting you the opportunity to do so, the advice you receive is free. You are not obliged to use any of them. Regards Michael

Hi Emma. You would need to contact a window company, although you may struggle to get some one out to a small job like this. There are specialist company's out there that only do repaires to upvc doors and windows you may be better to try googling for them. Cheers. Joe Whelan. NWBS
