FLOOR BOARDS AND WALL GAPS

Posted by TODD FOLLIS, on
Is it normal to have a gap between a floor board and a plastered wall, I have a bungalow that i'm renovating but the property was empty for 10 months so it was damp and moldy, after stripping the paper off and taking up the carpet i have rot in a small area of the floor boards and the joist has crumbled, ive removed the skirting boards which then exposes the gap between the wall and the floor boards is this normal and is this easily rectified. Thanks Todd
