Cracking paint

Posted by Gyula Babik, on
Hi, I’m decorating a small room, removed the old wallpaper, most of the adhesive, sanded the wall (plain plaster), and applied zinnser gardz. Than painted a coat of matt emulsion, most of the walls/ceiling are ok but noticed some cracking (only on part of one wall). Do I need to fully sand the area and start again or can I apply Zinnser Peel stop and than paint it? Is this happening because I skipped the watered down base coat? Also, just a thought. The final coloured coat won’t be matt. Would it crack again if I sand it back and apply the final satin/silk coat, which is more flexible than the matt?

What would you like to do now?
