Can anyone tell me if it's advisable and/or possible to remove the old hearth stone found under fireplaces , I have two rooms where the fireplaces have been removed but the hearth stones seem to be still present which are higher than the floor boarding , which would get in the way for laminating the floor, as the laminates won't be level going over them
