I'm moving to a property that does not have a Gas supply. I have always had a "normal" gas combi-boiler so am totally unaware of the do's and don'ts when it comes to heating water in a property that uses electric water heating. I would like to have even a rough idea of what it would cost to install a system for heating water in a smallish 2-bed flat containing one bathroom (with a bath and shower). From my single viewing of the property there is what appears to be a very old water tank covered in rank old foam. Ideally I would like to replace this with something more modern and efficient, but which doesn't cost a fortune (I know this is all relative, but if we're talking £3k...£5k...£10k, then it's a no go for me). Any info at all as to what this is likely to cost me would be very much appreciated!
