Hi Danny you want bag of bonding plaster and finish plaster. Depends how heavy artex pattern. Do not scrape artex as a lot of it contains asbestos. Most plasterers don't know this or don't care about there health or customers. Without getting it tested you don't know?? Be safe your ok to bond it skim artex ok if not disturbed. Hope that helps many thanks jay plasterworx
Hi Danny , we would usually advise to not plaster over artex and instead overboard with 9.5mm plasterboard ,if the customer wanted a quick turnaround we would tape and joint it instead of skim .. This would allow completion including painting in two days .
Hi you will need pva muiltifinish plaster and a good plasterer from rated people. Thanks ian. Ijs plastering
You can skim over the artex with multi finish if it is light artex if it is thick then it needs to be bonded&skimmed
Plastering is not a diy job, post the job on rated people and most plasterers will give you an all in price
Hi Danny Never ever try to plaster over artex as the moisture from the water content in the plaster pulls of the the artex and the plaster, As artex is a water based painted on product, Use a steamer on the artex , and it will lift off the artex with a scraper Regards Liam Aplin
