Small leak

Posted by Cally Wetherill, on
Hi, we live in a three storey townhouse and have a problem with a leak above our living room. Above is an en suite on the 1st floor, then a bathroom on the 2nd. We’ve had multiple tradespeople out to look at both bathrooms and check whether anything is leaking, we’ve also pained over the ceiling with stain blocker paint. The last tradesperson thought the issue could be small amounts of water escaping due to poor silicone around the shower base, so that has now been redone. Unfortunately the issue is still there. There’s now a small hole in the ceiling and mould in the surrounding area. The plaster doesn’t seem particularly wet but it is a little damp. I don’t think it was a bulge that appeared due to weight of water, I think my partner was prodding around and it broke. The floor was covered in dry bits of plaster when I got in from work. Obviously we need a plasterer to repair the ceiling, however first we want to make sure there’s no leak. Which type of tradesperson would help with this?
