Heating Circuit (Simple Question)

Posted by Peter , on
When the boiler / heating is switched off, what happens to the water in the heating circuit? Does it stay stagnant in the pipes until the boiler is switched back on?

On most boilers the pump continues to run for a while to pump the excess heat away from the boiler. Most modern boilers will run the circulating pump regularly. The water in the heating system has little oxygen in it and so will not stagnate in the same way that open water would.
