I live in a 5 bedroomed house with a main bathroom & 2 ensuite bathrooms both of which have stand alone showers which were both separately pumped. Both ensuites have been refurbished in the last few years & when the second of these was done in July 2018, the plumber suggested that a new 3 bar pump could be used to pump the entire hot water system throughout the house. The pump (Salamander CT Force 30 PT) which has failed after less than 2 years (it does supposedly have a five year warranty) had in recent times become more noisy, before completely failing. Although the showers are only used once or twice a day, hot water taps will be turned on many, many times each day often for only 10 or 15 seconds. It has left me wondering why a pump with a five year warranty has failed in less than 2 years. The plumber assures me that a 3 bar pump should be able to handle this sort of situation comfortably, but it has left me wondering if his original suggestion of pumping the entire house was a good one. Salamander do say in their information booklet that the water cylinder should be set at a maximum of 60 Centigrade (which it is) & our water is soft. I would appreciate some feedback, please.
