Radiator Isolation

Posted by Gregor Scott, on
Hi, I tried to isloate my bedroom radiator and drain the radiator. I turned the TRV to zero and closed the valve at the other end. We thought this was sucessfull and we removed the radiator from the wall ok. We realised a little while later that we had no hot water so we topped up the boiler pressure and water started comeing out of the pipe where the TRV was connected to the radiator. It looks like we drained the whole system rather than just that radiator. I think that the TRV end was not isolated even although I turned it to zero. Can anyone give advice on how I can ensure this is isolated?
