Good at first and cheap but not worth it. 6 months later my fence concrete posts are wobbly, the fence door can’t open or close it’s just stuck and I had notified the company but they have said they can’t fix the issue as it’s supposedly an issue not caused by them.
They were very dodgy and unreliable. They took all the agreed money but never came back to finish the job. I was left without a kitchen, cooking utilises and drinking water for two whole months as no other builders were willing to pick up the mess they left behind. The garden was a complete mess with concrete and heavy building rumble. I strongly advise people to be wary of hiring them.

We were only planning to have new wooden double glazed windows for the front of the house, but were actually able to have new windows for the whole house. Employed these workmen to supply and fit a window, seems very nice and helpfull, with a guarantee to fix a condensation problem. I have raised complaints with them after first day of fitting and I have been totally ignored and charged an extra £150 to fix a problem on a different window. he did not do the work but he took the money. I would not recommend and I think that Rated People should be held responsible, as workman are employed because they have come through on the Rated People website. Rip off.

Alton Services built a 2-storey extension for us and we were so delighted with their work they went on to refurbish our bathroom, completely refurbish my mother's new home and build a conservatory. Their range of ability, attention to detail and work ethic has been really reliable. They turned up every day all day and nothing was too much trouble. I would not hesitate to recommend them and we have just agreed to a further round of work for them to undertake as we are so pleased.

Sadly as much as the extension looks fine on the outside, there have been too many issues behind the scenes that we have had to get remedied, which has been a huge additional ongoing cost to us. The team are not experts and will not do a thorough job. We have recently had to deal with a big health and safety electrical issue due to their inability to do things properly. We now wish we that we had engaged someone else.

Very unprofessional and had no idea about any of the plumbing or electrical work based on my personal experience as the the guy AK is not qualified as a plumber or a builder and relies on a couple of guys who had problems to understand work details hence they often argue with AK about the work and the agreed labour cost therefore they wasted my time and I had to hire someone else after wasting my time with them. Please avoid at any cost to hire this AK company .
