A friendly, hard working pair of young lads who did two excellent jobs on my roof very efficiently under adverse conditions. I had a good, written quotation, to which they kept and which was not at all unreasonable. They will be given first refusal on any future roofing job I may have (which is not unlikely in my old house).

Gerald installed a new felt flat roof for us on a Tenanted property in Nov 2020, with a 10 year guarantee. In early Feb 2021 we noticed serious water ingress through the roof, due to the felt being incorrectly laid and un-bonded. We've just had another roofer install an entirely new roof at considerable expense. Gerald has refused to address the issue or to honour his guarantee in anyway. We're currently pursuing him for a refund through the Small Claims Court. DO NOT USE HIS SERVICES.

The basic work was done, but I’d agreed with mark that he does a number of other pieces of work because the price I’d agreed with him was too much for resetting of 30 or so bricks. But before I knew anything about it he’d taken down the scaffolding and packed up claiming he’d done everything possible. I’d paid handsomely for a days work, I got a couple of hours max. Turned out to be a huge job in the end and project escalated which I was given full explanations and photo evidence of. Job timelines could have been better but could not fault work quality. Hired this tradesperson all went well for a short time - his team walked out on him and he could not get the appropriate trades to complete various stages of the build - after complaining about the constant delays he stated he would not come back and is now in breech of his contract- due to his inability to obtain the relevant tradespeople his plumbing “expertise” has now caused a leak underneath our newly fitted kitchen floor! Which we are having to pay to repair! Disgraceful!

Unfortunately this job seemed to be beyond Jay's ability and we had to stop it part way through and find someone else to finish it. On the positive side Jay recognised this and was very apologetic and was certainly not trying to rip us off. But I cannot recommend him for this type of job (replacing existing front door and frame with new frame and door).
