Arrived on time and did the job required. I.e. reduce a hawthorn hedge by approx . 3 feet. The pruning was achieved in record time but at the expense of clearing the site. properly. Bits of hedge were left in mine and my neighbour's garden and in the road. I had to complete the job and ended up taking 4 large bags to the recycling centre. Disappointed.

They deserve good marks all round. The quote was extremely reasonable and competitive. Once we agreed the job, they turned up on the day, on time! John and Dane were fantastic - highly recommend Chaucer Paving! Excellent standard of work, turned up early every day and got the job done in very difficult circumstances (covid pandemic) right up to / immediately after the UK lock down, and observed social distancing respectfully at all times. Helpful, polite, hard-working, reasonably priced and did a great job. I look forward to calling John again when we need a new fence out the front. Thanks guys! (job was laying new patio/fencing/gate/shed base)

After meeting Johnny I got him to quote for a much bigger job, comprising of a huge area of paving with a big concrete base for a garden house as well as the driveway extension, laying of cabling and adding a soak away and drainage. I was apprehensive due to the size of the job & the expenditure involved but I chose J Ward over others that have done work for me before. I couldn’t be more pleased with how things turned out, the work ethic of the team was unreal. Johnny is a true professional.

Repair and re set of tiles to roof ridge and also replacement of numerous cracked and broken tiles undertaken. My roof also required substantial moss removal. Shaun, Jesse and Ben completed the work over two days, polite team and cleaned up nicely before departing on both days. Professional advice given on individual aspects of likely future roof issues. Very satisfied all works done.

This was one of those jobs that had various problems from the start. Having said that SMS did put them all right without complaint. The quote given for the clearing of the site AND the complete redesign was excellent. The original deadline was missed by a long way primarily due to misjudging the anomalies of the site (eg the underlying concrete was a lot thicker than anticipated). SMS were slow in clearing the site after the work was done - it took almost three weeks before the last of the rubble and debris were moved. Overall, I am pleased with the work done and the final result and would be prepared to use them again.

Levelling the site was good but the slab laying was bad. Had the whole lot taken up and relayed by someone else.

Jason came to provide me a new lawn, as the previous was installed very poorly. The end result is fantastic, but for me it was the craftsmanship on display up to that point that really impressed me. Jason and his team were professional throughout the job and also provided an excellent service at a not-so-expensive outlay. I throughly recommend Jason, and he is a good person to add. Well done and great work!

The stud wall put in is very uneven having a big bump from ceiling to floor where two walls meet the stud. They did both walls so it’s totally their fault. I would say Bryan is an okay plasterer but it was an absolute mess and very sloppy. i now have had other plasterers So know what it’s supposed to look like. I had never had a wall plastered before. He refused to give me an invoice. He asked me to pay into his wife’s account. It was all very bizzarr. I would not recommend & would say be wary.
