Gas Boiler - Installation
Did not fit an official stop tap. Charged a call out fee even though they came to quote for this job and a full bathroom fit. Since the stop tap has been fitted we have had a flood under our house. Very disappointed. Would not recommend! Happy to charge excessive prices and fit unofficial equipment.

We’re very sorry to hear of your situation but do not feel this is an accurate or a fair review what so ever, if anything it borders on slander. Here are the facts..... We agreed prior that we would attend for a reasonable callout fee to remove an internal gas pipe and quote for your bathroom renovation.
- TRADESPERSON, 1/12/2018 22:31
Luckily enough we identified the piping to be an old gas mains so we did not proceed with this job and advise you to contact your gas supplier to have it relocated or removed.
- TRADESPERSON, 1/12/2018 22:32
As we did say happily we would have left without charging and told you this but you then requested that we replace a leaking mains stop valve that although detailed in your advert prior to our attendance you said that your builders were taking care of but at this point you said it’s dripping was causing damage and you needed something doing about it so would rather pay us as we were here anyway.
- TRADESPERSON, 1/12/2018 22:33
We then advised you that we could only affect a temporary fix as we did not have any stop valves on the van. You requested that we affect the temporary fix and advised that your builders would later fit an actual mains stop tap. This was agreed that it would be done for the callout fee prior to the job taking place.

22mm lever type isolator valves are use at length throughout the industry to isolate mains cold water at full mains pressure and there is no issue with using these lever type valves at any point on the cold water system. Screw type “stop valves” are a more suitable form of isolation for this purpose which we did advise you at length as they are not so easily turned.
- TRADESPERSON, 1/12/2018 22:33
We are very sorry for whatever unfortunate circumstances which have lead to the water damage you describe but can only assume that this has been caused through: 1. you not taking steps in replacing the temporary measure of the lever type isolation valve. 2. Quite possibly the valve being accidentally initiated by whomever was undertaking works on the water piping during the extensive work that is being carried out on your property.
- TRADESPERSON, 1/12/2018 22:34
While we where there we also quoted for your bathroom refit which was agreed before we even came that as you said it “the other jobs will make it worth your while coming to quote for the bathroom as you will receive the callout charge”
- TRADESPERSON, 1/12/2018 22:35
Had you contacted us directly we would have gladly pointed all of this out to you but find it fair to assume that you have been misadvised by whoever has actually caused the damage on your property and now at this time on a Saturday night after having a few drinks have decided to vent your frustration at the wrong party. All the best with your future plans

Adam was very polite and hard working and tidied up afterwards. One of the best tradesmen and I would definitely recommend him
