House Extension
Had an extension built - cost almost £32k - Company uses 100% subcontractors no employees which when we were looking they advised they only employ people and have 2 projects ongoing at a time which is not true - Overall quality of build is good (4*) but overall score a 2* due to some of the subcontractors work and attitude, mistakes during build by not following architects drawings, poor communication and project management, leaving house open to elements and me having to arrange building control visits.

Thank you for the 4 star review and I'm sorry in some aspects we have not met your expections. The build was started on 14th October and competed in January, for a winter build I beieve this is more than acceptable. (This includes the 1 week delay to resolve your raft foundation issue, which your architect missed off) The project value was £26,310, and for a rear extension with a pitched tiled roof including glazing to a plastered finish, I beieve this to be excellent value for money.

On review the original build was £26,310 based upon drawings - then an additional £3680 for the raft (which accepted architect missed) so this totals £30,170. I do accept that the build quality was good (not perfect but good as a few things were missed such as door refit sil etc) and they were super helpful when I contacted them but the problem here was down to project management and communication which I have listed and this is what affected the overall score so much.

I would also add that during the build a few personal issues occurred with the builders which were unexpected and out of their control so this could have contributed to the pm and communication issues.
House Extension
We unfortunately couldn’t proceed with our extension due to personal circumstances, however could not fault the professionalism and communication of Lee in the time running up to and following our quotation. Lee clearly listened to our needs and provided constructive suggestions for our requirements and when we are in a position to proceed, we will be definitely proceeding with Lee.
House Extension
Lee and Dean were very organised and were always in communication with us. I found that having a payment plan was a great idea as this lessened the big pay outs, the overall build was to a good standard especially it being the wettest March, April, May and June. Neat brickwork and work all completed hen they said it would be. If you are not happy with anything then they will sort ot out and their work is guaranteed for a time period after completion Thank you Broadway for making our dream come to reality.
The Broadstone team were really helpful from the start. Lee and Dean were great at responding to our queries and worked with us to get the outcome we wanted. All of the trades did a really good job and we’re very happy with our finished build. The project took a bit longer than expected but it was a winter build and the weather was not in our favour, so understandable.
