We are a small family owned business specialising in the installation of wood-burning stoves and fireplaces; we now also have our own local showroom based in Nazeing, Essex where you can view our fully working stoves and fires on display. We are HETAS registered (5003) and fully insured; all of our stoves meet the new government Clean Burn 2022 regulations.
The business is owned by Nick who retired after 31 years in the Fire Service; his role in the Fire Service was mainly as an operational officer in charge of fire engines and attending emergency 999 calls, but he also worked in the community fire safety department which included fire prevention. Nick studied to be a HETAS Engineer and has worked for several years as mobile wood-burning stove fitter, so in his professional life, Nick has seen both sides not only fitting stoves/fires into houses but also dealing with 999 calls relating to badly fitted stoves or fires.
In the last year, Nick has constructed and custom built our showroom in the grounds of Tyndalls Garden Centre, which specialises in DEFRA approved wood-burning stoves, gas stoves plus gas and electric fires. All stoves building modifications and chimney breasts on display were fitted and built by Nick so you can see for yourself the high quality of workmanship that we offer; this includes fire surrounds, wooden beams, granite hearths and brick fire chambers.
We are able to carry out every aspect of your install and also undertake complete re-furbishments and building projects; this includes twin walled chimney systems and pre-fabricated chimneys.

Massively pleased with the work Nick did for us. We were left high and dry by our previous HETAS engineer with a half installed and uncertified wood burner. Nick was really clear on the work that needed to be done and completed everything efficiently and with no fuss. The quality of the installation is second to none. Would highly recommend NDT. We wish we’d found them earlier!

Disagreement over the price, lack of safety for my workers whilst completing the work, due to an extension now being built since the original survey, and reservations about this customer, forced me to turn this job down.

Please check jobs I have rated, I have had a hand carved fireplace fitted, chimney removed and new ceilings, and it am about 2 weeks from completion of a 30k extension. All tradesman from rated people. I have also agreed a price for the work this guy said he would do. Please feel free to check the ratings I have left

• We had the usual customer and tradesman discussions over price. We then agreed a price. I agreed to pay up front if required, Nick said that would not be necessary. Having agreed a price Nick has now decided not to do the job. He feels access would be a problem. Access has not changed since he viewed the job, using his words I have on a text, "why would I do your job when I have easier jobs already priced"
