House Extension
I hired Magna Homes for a 10-week renovation, but 18 weeks later, the work is still incomplete. The extension was built in September, but the roof hasn’t even started. Delays and poor communication have caused significant financial strain, as I had to remortgage my house and can’t move back in. Weekly assurances to resume work have been broken repeatedly, leaving my home in an uninhabitable state. This experience has been frustrating and highly unprofessional.

It’s a shame that you decided to try and destroy my reputation without fully disclosing the circumstances. As you know, I was diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer near the start of the job but I pressed on. You added a long list of additional work meaning the original 10/12 week timing couldn’t be met. I am currently having treatment and the cancer has now spread to my bones so I am unable to do any work until I am in recovery. I found you a reliable contractor who was prepared to finish the work

Which contractor are you referring to? The one who left the extension unfinished in August, with no roof and incorrect structure? The same one you’ve promised weekly since September would complete the work within the sufficient budget you confirmed? Now, five months later, he’s doubling the costs. While I sympathize with your health challenges, this doesn’t excuse the unprofessional handling of this project, leaving my home uninhabitable and causing severe financial strain.

This company is a pure scum! The roof has been constructed using an incorrect size of joists and needs rebuild. They built walls without insulation that I now need to rebuild, re plaster, repaint. It's been 5 months still dont have a roof. I have already paid £44,000 out of £55,000 and £9,000 classed as extra at a later stage to Michael O'Heney who runs this company. He has left me a big mess behind, financial debts and has completely ruined my life.
Michael and his team did a great job of installing a new skylight for us. The finish was great and they were very tidy workers. We left them a key to the house and they completed the work whilst we were away - very happy.
