I have 30 years of building experience. I specialise in General property repairs and all aspects of building work, i.e. extensions, alterations and all aspects of refurbishment. All gas and electric is carried out by a qualified tradesmen.

Wanted £500 upfront BEFORE he started anything. Asked what for and said it was for materials. He hadn't even got an account at builders merchants.

Thank you for your feedback, I am sorry to hear that you were not happy with being requested to give a deposit; this is standard practice and I have not received a complaint about this before. The £500 would have secured some of the materials and is there to act as commitment to the work once materials are ordered. I've held accounts at multiple builders merchants for over 30 years. If you can provide me with further details on where this information has come from I would be happy to answer any queries.
