Neil ended up completing the full 2nd fix in my new build property, including fitting of staircase, kitchen, doors, skirting, laminate and associated tasks. All work was completed to a high standard, including the overcoming of some difficulties in actually fitting in the staircase to comply with building control. I would not hesitate to recommend Neil for your carpentry project and will certainly use him again.
Garage Conversion
Utopian Carpentry took full control of the project and dealt with it very professionally. I was kept informed of all stages of the build and what was happening when and why. The quality of the work was excellent and kept to an agreed budget and timescale.
Home Improvements
We had a combination of some standard work (putting up a new stud wall etc.) and some very much non-standard work using lime plaster, special fixings and stainless steel rib lath for the panels of our oak framed cottage. We had a couple of issues with the specialist fixings (supplied by us) and some guttering but we found Neil very responsive when they were brought to his attention. These were pretty minor things, though, and with all the other work Neil just got on and sorted it all out. We were very impressed with how well he did the lime plaster panels when he had never done that type of work before - they look really good. Because so much of the work was non-standard we paid him on a day-rate basis. This leaves plenty of scope for bill padding, but we were very happy with Neil's work ethic and honesty. We were particularly impressed that at the end of the job he wanted to meet with us on site, go over all the work with us and check we were happy - even though we'd offered to pay the final instalment unseen. Overall we found him likeable, hard working, honest and reliable. We have further work to do on our house and are keen to get him to do it as it was so hassle free for this lot of work.

Neil ended up actually fitting our bathroom, hanging all new doors in our house and turning and old airing cupboard into a wardrobe. Did a fantastic job and very reasonable vs. other quotes. Got the work done quickly and was very tidy. Would highly recommend!

We found Neil to be very friendly and approachable, he gave us some great advise and as a result have used him to complete several jobs over the last couple of weeks. He is reliable, quick and efficient we will definately use him again should we have ANY work that needs to be done to our property.
