After meeting Johnny I got him to quote for a much bigger job, comprising of a huge area of paving with a big concrete base for a garden house as well as the driveway extension, laying of cabling and adding a soak away and drainage. I was apprehensive due to the size of the job & the expenditure involved but I chose J Ward over others that have done work for me before. I couldn’t be more pleased with how things turned out, the work ethic of the team was unreal. Johnny is a true professional.

Darrel worked with me on adjusting he quote in order to prioritise the things that needed the most attention. We were held up a few days by the weather initially, but once things were underway I was very happy with how things progressed. I had been trying for a long time to find a contractor to do ladder work for a few essential roofing and conservatory repairs. We specialise in urgent response repairs on insurance claims where flooding, subsidence and other problems occur.
This was one of those jobs that had various problems from the start. Having said that SMS did put them all right without complaint. The quote given for the clearing of the site AND the complete redesign was excellent. The original deadline was missed by a long way primarily due to misjudging the anomalies of the site (eg the underlying concrete was a lot thicker than anticipated). SMS were slow in clearing the site after the work was done - it took almost three weeks before the last of the rubble and debris were moved. Overall, I am pleased with the work done and the final result and would be prepared to use them again.
