Over several months, he repeatedly promised to remove a large amount of timber left behind in my garden after the job, but simply failed to turn up. As I do not own a car, I now will need to pay someone to do it

Job was to sand the floor of our flat and we set a price. After asking for more they guaranteed to finish for the extra price. A day later they pulled out of the job leaving it un finished. They said it was due to a black tar like substance. they said they had tried everything. My painter and decorator took a torch and scrapper and had it up in minutes. They had the wrong tools and seemed like first flooring job. After contacting asking to finish he said he would get back to me but failed to be reached.

The business is owned by Nick who retired after 31 years in the Fire Service; his role in the Fire Service was mainly as an operational officer in charge of fire engines and attending emergency 999 calls, but he also worked in the community fire safety department which included fire prevention. Nick studied to be a HETAS Engineer and has worked for several years as mobile wood-burning stove fitter, so in his professional life, Nick has seen both sides not only fitting stoves/fires into houses but also dealing with 999 calls relating to badly fitted stoves or fires. In the last year, Nick has constructed and custom built our showroom in the grounds of Tyndalls Garden Centre, which specialises in DEFRA approved wood-burning stoves, gas stoves plus gas and electric fires. All stoves building modifications and chimney breasts on display were fitted and built by Nick so you can see for yourself the high quality of workmanship that we offer; this includes fire surrounds, wooden beams, granite hearths and brick fire chambers.
