Matthew overcharged for materials. He told me he paid £40 at Screwfix for the spikes. I was shocked and asked for a copy of the receipt but he didn't provide it. I did pay him in cash for the work then checked the price at Screwfix. The cost is £29.99 not £40. As a result, I cannot recommend him.

Following initial problems with the work, the roofing guys returned to put right the shortfalls which closed the job satisfactorily. However I had to oversee the work completion myself via Google Translate due to no instructions and poor communications to the work team. Some of the work was good like the trimming of the shrub and bushes. The weeding was hopeless as they have not been pulled up by the roots and some of it was not touched at all. Some of my plants were trampled on and the rose stems forcefully pushed through the obelisk were broken in their hurry to finish by five. Turned out to be a huge job in the end and project escalated which I was given full explanations and photo evidence of. Job timelines could have been better but could not fault work quality. SMK turned up promptly after I posted the leaking bathroom ceiling following Storm Ciaran last November. The roof repair/ceiling work was agreed to be no more than £15,800. The scaffolding went up but within 48 hrs they discovered rotten wood under the tiles and the quote doubled another £15k. They demanded the extra money but after £8,450 I called a halt. They said they had replaced the woodwork but there are woodworm visible rafters. The guttering and ceilings are incomplete.

The job took over 6 months to complete due to restricted working hours approx 10am to 3pm. No team of specialised workers but casual labourers. Good electrician. Poor plumber and tiler. Good design ideas but little to back it up. 3 years on I have had endless plumbing issues that have cost me to put right. Would not employ again nor recommend.

Well...what a job !! I cant fault Jim and his team for anything. Our toilet and shower building for our yurts at Looe Yurts is fantastic. The job was not without challenges - Covid-19, social distancing, lockdown and lack of supplies. However none of this phased Jim and his team. Its always tough trusting builders...cant think why, but these guys were ace. Polite, diligent and tidy and most importantly ON TIME & ON BUDGET. Even did a couple of extra bits too. No hesitation to recommend.

The roof was cleaned but the gutter and soffits were not cleaned to a satisfactory standard. It was stated they would return to finish the job but never turned up! Additionally, neighbours complained of the mess left on their property.
