George and his team are experienced builders, replaced my front door with a custom frame/sidelights and raising the floor level in the hallway quite quickly - in fact, they were the only who came next day, gave a quote straightaway and were ready to start in just couple of days. I hired Tom trading as Plaster Master to repair bedroom ceiling and board the loft and install loft ladder and replace the loft hatch. He gave an honest estimate for the work and the time line needed to complete the project which he did on time. We are absolutely furious with this builder’s unprofessionalism and incompetence. A simple three-week job—adding a stud wall, a doorway, and modifying a window—dragged on for over three months. He repeatedly promised to show up, then ghosted us, forcing constant schedule changes. He made careless mistakes, charged extra to fix them, and took weeks just to paint a door—until we dismissed him. We had to redo parts ourselves. A complete waste of time, money, and patience. Avoid him at all costs.

Updated review for 2024: Hired Mark to plaster my hallway and stairs. The stairs and ceiling are okay but the hallway is shoddy workmanship which is uneven and has trowel marks in it. Mark has unfotuntely refused to come back and told me I am just 'making a fuss'. I feel like he got his money so, now isn't interested in doing the decent thing - shame on you Mark. DO NOT HIRE IF YOU WANT A SMOOTH FINISH!

Unfortunately, over 12 months into the project, it is still not finished. There were a few circumstances outside of Tom's influence, but the delay's have been accompanied by repeated lies about finalising the project, and poor quality of the work that has been done.

Tom was not hired on this occasion for my posted job. I tried to remove/close the job post, but a glitch means I can not do so. I can only place a rating. It would be unfair to rate Tom as anything less than 5 stars as he did communicate a quote but wanted 50% up front. If I had not found a tradesman with immediate availability, it may well have worked out differently.

Great work by a great team. Chris kept in touch leading up to the work. We knew from initial contact to the team turning up what to expect. It took under 5 mins for him to assess the problem and tell us what the problem was, as soon as the part was ordered he came back 2 days later to fit and the job took about an hour.
