James turned up to assess the job I had described and provided a candid assessment of what really needed doing - which in this instance saved me money on the work required. I took a couple of other quotes but none of those gave me the confidence that James had and despite the holiday period, we managed to agree some dates - then we changed them once James confirmed availability - and he and his team turned up and completed the work efficiently and very little fuss. Despite the price increase, the work was not done properly. Instead of completing the agreed brickwork, they used excessive fire foam, and the repointing was poorly executed, leaving noticeable gaps. When I raised concerns, the team was unprofessional and resistant to fixing the issues. They were more focused on getting paid.
