Thanks Paul, here is how I see it from a customers perspective. I waited over two weeks for an estimate and had to chase. You said you were off sick and immediately sent me an estimate for £395 . I costed the parts and they were around £70 so you were charging £325 for labour. I reckoned it was a 2hr job and have since had work done and just under 2hrs at a total cost of £190. So in my simple head you were charging £160/hour for labour versus £60/hour . Just tell customers the truth if job too small

Most tradespeople do what you ask and don’t offer comment or suggestion. Garry’s approach was different. He used a design-led and creative process to make sure every inch of space in my kitchen was crafted to meet my needs. His professionalism and workmanship is exceptional. He gave me a bespoke kitchen for the price of an off the peg one. He totally transformed the space available. My finished kitchen is stunning. I can’t recommend Kingsburgh Interiors highly enough. The Maserati of tradespeople!

Bob has just completed painting the outside of my house. I would recommend him to anyone looking for a painter. He was a very neat worker and tidied up afterwards. His price was very reasonable considering he had some cementing work to be done before giving the walls two coats of paint.

Excellent job done for a good price. Pleasure to deal with at every stage. Answered all my questions and provided a detailed written quote before being given the job. Turned up on time every day. Scaffolding, skip,materials all arrived when they were supposed to. All members of the team were experienced and skilled tradesmen and they even cleared up every day. Thomas Gilheaney and Billy, gardeners, did an excellent garden maintenence job for us, including digging up old tree roots, removing and grassing over an old flower bed, replanting, trimming about 10 large trees, and repairing low garden walls, all within a short time, and removed all the cuttings. We found them helpful and they gave good advice. We can definitely recommend them highly for similar work,

your quote was £1800... And that was for materials and labour... If there was any materials left over then they were mine as I had paid for them hence in your quote so any extras u did for me would have been labour costs only I asked you the cost to get hut painted you said no more than £70 but you only painted the roof so no more than £30 hose on to wall no more than £30 a strip of wood round the fence a slab at the hut and some sand round the hut... That's all I can think of that comes nowhere near £500
