Effective & nicely done hedge tidy-up, really made the garden look noticeably better, and all the waste was indeed tidied away and removed from site as promised. I'll be using Sam again for hedges & would trust him with our trees etc too.

Lance Tait and Longstroke Plasterers quoted to remove a load bearing brick pillar in my kitchen. The started when scheduled and finished on time. The work was completed in budget. Hired them for chimney pointing and lead flashing repair. Arrived late after initial payment and did a substandard job, failing to meet my clearly defined requirements. Returned to fix it, but still not up to standard. I requested an invoice, which James promised to send upon final payment, but never received it despite multiple reminders. The work felt like a patchwork job rather than a professional repair. Poor communication and quality—would not hire again and can share pictures of their work if needed.

Left carpet and 2 sets of my ladders covered in plaster. Paid for 2 days work when it only took 1. Had to patch up parts he had missed through rushing the job. Didn't have the correct tools for plastering round the stairs. Used my ladders. Didn't even have enough covers for the carpet.

Used GR building to re slate my roof. after 3 weeks 2 slates came off. Repeatedly rang and left messages and he finally came back to sort it out after not appearing the first date given. 3 more slates have just come off. Even taking into account the strong winds I find it unacceptable that this can happen. I will not be asking him it sort it this time as I have no confidence he will do the job correctly and have made alternative arrangements.
