How do I get deposit of £1000 returned for work undone Waiting April

Paid Deposit in April 2024 for Ramp and large rear garden area to be trimmed after many contacts by me and several promises by him ,no attempt made .Cancelled Job in 3rd October as no show yet again asked for return of Deposit no response. I did originally get this contact Via Rated people for Large job completed successfully last year.
