Highly recommended !! 5 star rating given for an excellent transformation of my hallway, stairs and landing, which required all walls to be skimmed and sanded prior to paintwork due to the poor condition of the walls when paper was removed. Spyros always arrived before start time, would stay longer when necessary if in the middle of a specific part of the job, cleared away all debris each day, vacuumed thoroughly and kept me fully informed of the additional costs incurred (skim/sand). We have extensive experience of lime plastering, render and traditional materials such as lath and plaster and wattle and daub. We also undertake repointing and wall repairs with flint and clunch. I have an MSc in Building Conservation and can advise on many aspects of the care and renewal of traditional buildings whether listed or not. Issues such as damp and insulation in old properties are a speciality. We can also recommend and liaise with other tradespeople who are qualified to repair historic timber, brick and stone. We have a detailed knowledge of regulations as they apply to Listed Buildings and have long experience of guiding owners through the process of obtaining listed building consent. Dan did such a great job with our 17th century lime wall. Painstakingly removing the modern repair without damaging the surrounding plaster and then re-lathing and finishing with lime plaster. You can hardly see where the repair is even though we didn't skim the whole wall to preserve wall paintings. Very clean and tidy and I wouldn't hesitate to use him again, highly recommended.

I needed to arrange some roof repair's remotely for my elderly parents, in a way that didn't cause them to worry unnecessarily. I never met Shane of SL Building Services, only spoke to him on the phone, but he managed the process in a way that more than sufficiently allowed for the work to be completed in a way that gave confidence to all. My parents didn't worry and the roof is fixed!

Excellent visit from Kevin and Phil yesterday to carry out maintenance work on our 14 Velux windows. They did a thorough job of cleaning and lubricating the hinges and mechanisms, and solved issues we had opening a couple of the windows. First, Daniel came and spent nearly an hour with me while I explained what I needed. He gave me an estimate. Then made an appointment to start the work a week later. He and Steve worked extremely hard, did everything that I asked, cleared up impeccably, and finished on budget. They were courteous and helpful and I will happily recommend them.
