Minerva Leadwork has been installing lead sheet to construction projects both domestic and commercial since 1987. We use the traditional working methods of bossing and lead welding, to fabricate bespoke flashing's and weathering details in lead; to modern domestic dwellings and listed buildings.
Experts in period and heritage roof restoration, we have years of expertise in slating, tiling and re-roofing. From simple roof repairs to complete new roofs, we offer a comprehensive and professional service. Whether your building is modern or old, we have the solutions and skills to meet your requirements.
Our ancillary services include flat roofing (including single ply E.P.D.M and GRP fibreglass roofing systems). A full first fix carpentry service, (installing weather boarding, fascias, rafters and dormers etc.)
The installation of all roof line plastics, including fascia, soffits and guttering; and the installation of Velux windows and heritage roof windows and sky lights. We also rebuild and renovate brick built chimneys.
We are fully insured and all of our work is guaranteed.

Slate & Tiled Roof
Craig carried out some roof repairs these were completed, with some issues with scaffolding being put up and taken down. However an issue with guttering which he was due return to fix has not been dealt with despite trying to get hold of him on many occasions.
Chimney Building / Repair
Craig responded to our request to repair a chimney top bird guard and remove a redundant aerial very quickly. He came and surveyed the roof and gave us an estimate without charge. Craig then returned to do the work having made proactive suggestions regarding other logical minor repairs in the vicinity (broken slate, minor re-pointing). The final result was excellent. Craig is evidently a very competent, courteous and experienced roofer and I would certainly use him again.
Velux / Skylight Window
Craig came over twice in December 2015 to confirm the details and measurements for the replacement of our Velux windows. He promised to get in touch after Christmas to confirm a date for the job. I never heard from him again and both my chaser telephone calls in February were ignored. Complete waste of time.
Slate & Tiled Roof
Really pleased with the work Craig did for us. Came round promptly and gave us an estimate which was competitive. Came to do the job when promised completed the job to a high standard and was happy to give us an estimate for further work at a later date. Would happily recommend
Pointing / Repointing
Failed to turn up for first day of work, rang me 3 days later to apologise, rebooked work, turned up to do work this time, worked hard to finish that day. asked him to quote on new job,3 weeks later still awaiting quote,

Due to an accident that required hospitalization that morning, obviously I was not able to attend the job on the first day. I tried to contact Mr Twaits several times over the next two days without success. When I finaly contacted Mr Twaits a mutually convenient time was arranged to come back and complete the project. I completed the job on time and to a very high standard, all to Mr Twaits full satisfaction. A further quote for building works was not forthcoming because our brick layer didn't want the job.

It's a pity that nobody informed me that the bricklayer wasn't interested in doing the job, then I wouldn't have waited so long to get another quote from somebody who was.
